Shalini Dam is a contemporary ceramic artist who made a bold career transition from a distinguished two-decade career in advertising to pursue
her artistic passion. She decided to pursue Masters in Ceramics from Cardiff School of Art & Design, Wales, UK.

Now based in a remote village in Himachal Pradesh and Goa, India, Shalini has established her own studio where she creates thought-provoking ceramic works that explore themes of social consciousness, environmental concerns, and cultural identity. Her artistic practice focuses on manipulating
clay surfaces to create optical illusions that change as viewers move around the work, making audience interaction integral to the artwork experience.

Her exhibitions span internationally, including shows at Mrittika 3 in Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal; CretaYuga in Argilla, Faenza, Italy; Ex-Tempore in Zagreb, Croatia; and various galleries in Delhi. In 2017 she was awarded the second
prize at the 20th All India Studio Pottery Exhibition organised by AIFACS. participated in Breaking Ground 2018, India’s First Ceramic Triennale, Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur (2018) and got an Honourable Mention at the
    Korean International Ceramic Biennale 2019.
