Satyaranjan Das
Satyaranjan Das (b. 1993, Odisha) is a multidisciplinary artist based in New Delhi whose practice reflects on displacement, ecology, and collective memory. Rooted in his agrarian upbringing and his family’s history of land loss, his work draws from lived experiences of rural life and environmental change. He works across painting, installation, and new media, often experimenting with jute, handmade rice paper, and found objects to evoke resilience and fragility.
Das has exhibited widely, including at the 64th National Exhibition of Art, Lalit Kala Akademi (2025), Art of India, Times of India (2025), Art Mumbai (2024), and CIMA Gallery (2024). His awards include the Hyundai Art for Hope Grant (2025), the Junior Fellowship, Ministry of Culture (2021–22), the CIMA Merit Award (2022), and the Odisha Lalit Kala Akademi Award (2020), among others. At 32, Das continues to be a vital voice in Indian contemporary art, reimagining landscapes under siege and articulating the struggles and resilience of rural communities.
