Mohita Suri’s work is a deep exploration of the female form—its textures, tonal shifts, and the subtle  imprints left by time, touch, and expectation. She is a Delhi based self-taught artist. She joined Triveni  Kala Sangam in 2022 and has worked under mentorship of Mr. Rameshwar Broota for two years. Her early years as a teenage model and later managing gyms gave her a heightened sensitivity to the body.  She paints bodies using multiple layers technique in which colors gradually developed in 4 to 5 layers. 

Her art does not sensationalize the body but honors it—depicting it as sensuous without vulgarity,  challenging social and self-imposed limits. In her paintings, she records quiet traces: the indentation of a  bra strap, the pressure of a waistband, or the faint mark of a wedding ring. Such impressions reveal both  the literal and symbolic constraints women navigate daily. In recent works, the figure shifts beyond  representation, becoming landscape. A hip unfolds like a rolling hill, a belly softens into gentle slopes,  parted lips echo the opening of a spring. Some of the works she’s holding on to herself where  fragmented nude bodies are woven together into an unstable structure, negotiating with itself. In one  work bodies dissolve into one another, becoming an unstable landscape where vulnerability, memory,  and resilience coexist and in other work intimacy unfolds as a fragile negotiation, where bodies become  both refuge and restraint. 

Through this fusion, Suri reclaims the body as organic, fluid, and unconfined—a site of both vulnerability  and resilience. Her paintings invite us to witness the female form not as bound, but as boundless.
