Dheeraj Balihara
Dheeraj Balihara is a visual artist and printmaker from Hanumangarh, Rajasthan. He completed his bachelor’s degree in painting in 2023 and his master’s degree in printmaking in 2025. His practice is primarily figurative, and He works mainly with printmaking techniques such as etching, lithography, woodcut, and various experimental processes. Recently, He have also been exploring ways to move beyond the traditional two dimensional surface of prints. He uses figurative and imaginative forms as a way to understand and communicate my thoughts about people, society, and my own place within it. His work often looks at human behaviour, morality, values, equality, power, and the contradictions within
society.
He is particularly interested in how our morals and values can change depending on social groups, personal interests, or systems of power. His recent work, Democracy in Fragments, explores the relationship between power, responsibility, and the people who are often neglected after power is gained. Alongside these concerns, He creates works inspired by personal memories, everyday observations, and situations that stay with me. He is drawn to printmaking because its physical and layered process allows me to build a deeper connection with the work.
