Savya Jain
Savya Jain is a contemporary artist based in New Delhi, India. Trained in Interior Architecture and Design, her journey from spatial design to painting evolved as an inward return, a spontaneous response to the need for expressive clarity. Her artistic sensibility has been shaped by global seminars and immersive art programmes, but it was her experience leading a corporate design division that sparked her desire to reclaim a more fluid, personal form of creation.
Savya’s practice remains grounded in the tactile intimacy of paint. In her latest work, Savya deepens her exploration of the circular gesture, where strokes become both structure and story. Anchored in a consistent palette drawn from skies, clouds, nature and lived emotion, these works evoke the feeling of memory made visible. Each brushstroke feels like a trace of passing time, of inner weather, of moments between thought and sensation. With shifts in scale, density, and texture, she transforms familiar marks into meditative fields that quietly mirror the rhythms of everyday life.
These works extend the emotional topography Savya began charting through paint, now reaching into space, texture, and light. My first act of painting was as a child, instinctive and joyful, a hand dipped in colour and pressed against a wall. That same instinct continues to guide me. My practice begins not with an object but with a feeling. I paint from the inside out, translating memory, air, light, or silence into layered washes and subtle gestures. A coastline at dawn, the stillness of a mountain, the tension before rain, these become metaphors for interiority. I do not seek to capture how the world looks but how it feels to move through it. Each canvas is a gentle offering, shaped by longing, solitude, belonging, and joy. I see them not as statements but as invitations; to pause, to feel, to remember. If they hold anything at all, I hope it is space: for reflection, for recognition, for the private contours of emotion.
