Soghra Khurasani
Soghra Khurasani is a Vadodara-based artist working primarily in printmaking, with a practice that explores themes of identity, landscape, and the human condition. She received her MFA in Printmaking from Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda (2010) and her BFA in Painting from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam (2008). Her works have been widely exhibited, including at the 35th Ljubljana Biennale of Graphic Arts (2023), where she received a special mention, and in solo shows at TARQ, Mumbai, Gitler & _____, New York, and Kalakriti Art Gallery, Hyderabad. She has also participated in major group exhibitions at the Kochi-Muziris Biennale, Anant Art Gallery, Srishti Art Gallery, and Emami Chisel Art, among others, and her work has been showcased at Art Dubai, India Art Fair, and Art Mumbai. Khurasani has taken part in international residencies such as the Beisinghoff Printmaking Residency (Germany, 2018) and the Khoj–Kooshk Exchange Program (Tehran/Delhi, 2016). Her recognitions include the Queen Sonja Print Award nomination (2024), the 56th National Academy Award (2015), and the inaugural Kala Sakshi Memorial Trust Award (2009).
