Nirali Lal’s practice as a painter goes beyond the limits of mundane observations, creating fantasies in both oils and watercolours. As she also writes poetry, her paintings could be described as a tapestry of ideas in colour. She completed her Masters degree in Art Criticism from M.S.U., Baroda in 2000. And a Bachelor’s degree in Painting from Chitrakala Parishath, Bengaluru in 1998.

She primarily works as a painter and has participated in a number of group exhibitions in India and abroad. She also writes on Art, and has curated a couple of shows – Requiem – Mario Dsouza in Bengaluru in 2003 & Veritable Concotions – group show of works by six artists – for ‘Yep Art’ in Baroda in 2018. She has previously worked as an art manager for ‘Art Pension Trust’ and an Art representative for Saffronart. Recently in March, 2025, she had her 2nd solo exhibition of paintings and Poetry titled ‘Feed Me Colour’ curated by Bhooma Padmanabhan at the Chitrakala Parishath, Bengaluru.
