Bhanu Shrivastav
Bhanu Shrivastav is a visual and performance artist from Hansi, Haryana, currently based in Bangalore. He holds a Master of Visual Arts in Printmaking and Expanded Media from the University of Hyderabad (2024) and a Bachelor’s in Printmaking from the Government College of Art, Chandigarh (2022). Rooted in themes of migration, memory, and ecological imbalance, his practice draws from lived experiences of displacement and labor, blending anthropology, ritual, and environmental consciousness. Initially trained as a printmaker, his work has expanded into performance, where he employs elemental materials like water, ash, coal, and earth to create sensorial, participatory experiences. His performances often unfold in public and transitional spaces, incorporating oral histories, folklore, and ecological realities through community collaboration. A recipient of the Kala Sakshi Memorial Trust Art Scholarship and the Immerse Fellowship & Residency (2025), Bhanu continues to build a multidisciplinary practice that speaks to resilience, transformation, and environmental accountability.
