Based in Kolkata, India, Bikram Dey is a multidisciplinary artist. He obtained his BFA from Bengal fine  arts college in in 2021 and his MFA from Kalyani University in 2024. His work explores memory,  technology, media, virtual worlds, and modern social realities through painting, video, stop-motion  animation, installation, and mixed media. 

Dey developed an interest in the interaction between virtual and physical locations as a result of  growing up with video games and digital settings. He investigates fractured memories and the how  media and technology affect perception, desire, and comprehension using pixelated graphics as a  visual language. His method connects traditional creation with digital forms by fusing hand-painted  watercolor imagery with animation and tangible materials. 

Dey has participated in exhibitions including the Student Biennale, Kochi, Birla Academy Annual Art  Exhibition, Indian Art Fair, and Kaarigari Foundation’s “What We Carry, What We Created.” He  received the Svikriti Award in 2024 and participated in Santiroad Next Step Residency in 2026.
